The México II section at Xcaret was renewed through a comprehensive intervention encompassing both the building and its rooftop. Our proposal brought together vibrant architectural structures and refined, contemplative spaces.
Rather than simply reproducing Mayan imagery, we sought to rediscover the cultural and philosophical foundations of the Maya—embracing not only their extraordinary use of color, but also the profound sense of introspection embedded in their worldview. Through architecture, light, material, and atmosphere, we aimed to evoke moments of Mayan thought and translate them into a contemporary spatial experience.
